What is my IP address?
Your IP address is the unique number that identifies your device on the internet. IP Ducky shows both your public IPv4 and IPv6 addresses at the top of this page.
What's the difference between IPv4 and IPv6?
IPv4 addresses look like 192.0.2.1 and are the older, most common format. IPv6 addresses are longer (e.g. 2001:db8::1) and were introduced because the world ran out of IPv4 addresses. IP Ducky shows both whenever your network supports them.
Does IP Ducky store my IP address?
No. IP Ducky is a static site and your IP and location are looked up directly in your browser. We don't store your IP address on any server we control. See our Privacy Policy.
Can people find my exact location from my IP address?
No. IP-based geolocation is only approximate — usually accurate to a city or region, and often off entirely on mobile networks or VPNs. It is not your precise device location.
How can I hide my IP address?
Use a VPN, a proxy server, or the Tor Browser. These route your traffic through another server, so websites see that server's IP address instead of your own. Reload IP Ducky while connected to confirm it changed.
What's the difference between a public and a private IP address?
Your public IP is the address the internet sees — it's assigned by your ISP and is what IP Ducky shows. A private IP (like 192.168.x.x) is used only inside your home or office network and isn't visible to the wider internet.
