🦆 IP Ducky

Everyday Internet & Troubleshooting

How to Find Your IP Address on iPhone or iPad

iOS hides your Wi‑Fi IP one tap deep in Settings, while your public IP is just a browser visit away.

Find your public IP

Open Safari and visit IP Ducky. Your public IPv4 (and IPv6, if your carrier supports it) appears at the top with a copy button. This is the address apps and websites see.

Find your private Wi‑Fi IP

  1. Open Settings → Wi‑Fi.
  2. Tap the (info) button next to your connected network.
  3. Under IPV4 ADDRESS, read the IP Address — that's your device's private address on that network.

On cellular data

iPhones don't show the cellular IP in Settings, and carriers often place you behind CGNAT (carrier-grade NAT), so many phones share one public IP. To see the public address your carrier presents, load IP Ducky over cellular.

A privacy note

iOS can use a Private Wi‑Fi Address (a randomized MAC) per network, and iCloud Private Relay can mask your IP in Safari. If your location looks off, that's often why — see how to hide your IP address.
